Walmart Camping Tents
Walmart camping tents are known for low prices, as well as their ease of accessibility (it beats making a special trip to the camping store). The quality is generally very good, and their website has a rating system which helps give you a better idea of what to expect from their tents.
Here are a few of the more popular camping tents Walmart provides:
Coleman Weathermaster Tent. This tent is large enough for the Partridge Family (generally 6-8 comfortably) and includes three separate rooms. Walmart sells this tent for $100
Ozark Trail Sports Dome Tent. My wife and I made the mistake of purchasing a tent this size for our cycling trip across Ireland, only to realize that there wasn’t enough room for our gear and us. While this may not be an issue in drier climates, it resulted in several days of wet luggage. Sleep was also affected; we both laid awake for hours tossing and turning . Don’t let this happen to you!
If you are planning on purchasing a camping tent such as this one, make sure you purchase one for each person traveling. I think Ozark does a great job, and know several people who swear by them. You can buy this tent from Walmart for less than forty dollars, and it is very lightweight if you want to go trekking.
Swissgear Brienz Family Tent. This is a great tent, and has it all: easy set up, three spacious rooms, ventilation. It is also is a bit lighter (about seven pounds) than the Coleman Weathermaster. These are the three Walmart camping tents I would recommend over all others. |
