While it is very easy to travel around Thailand on the ground, you may want to take an internal flight if you are short on time. Many people fly into Bangkok, then purchase a series of additional tickets once they arrive. You can also look into purchasing a group of tickets that cover Southeast Asia, but be advised: the best deals are purchased outside of Thailand.

• I also recommend Singapore Airlines; they are along with Cathay Pacific the best airline provider in Asia. Rates are competitive, but it’s the service that really sets them apart.

Use internal flights as part of a larger straetegy. For example, you are flying from London to Bangkok, then off to Laos and Vietnam before flying home. Rather than buying them all together, look into buying a cheap round trip ticket from London to Bangkok (two of the most popular airline hubs in the world) and buy a cheap multi segment tour for the rest of the trip. You’d be amazed at the savings you can realize if you segment your trip this way.

Lastly, consider searching for airline consolidators (wholesalers who get super cheap flights). Type in “Thailand Consolidator rates” in Google, or search vayama.com (they access some, but not all these fares).
