International Flights Very Cheap
“Where can I get international flights very cheap?” Boy, if I had a dollar for everytime one of my clients asked me that, I would probably have enough money to travel the world indefinitely. Now that I am no longer a travel agent, I am free to offer you the best secrets I have on how to get very cheap international flights.
Buy ahead of time. It should go without saying, but a lot of people lose hundreds of dollars waiting for the price to go down. My rule is that if you know when you want to travel, purchase your flights at least three months before departure, prefereably more.
Be flexible. If you can stretch your travel dates by a few days, you could save some money; if your flexibility extends a few weeks, even better. The reason for this lies in the travel seasons: high (usually summer and the holidays), low (usually the rest of winter) and shoulder (the remainder). By pushing your flight one week in either direction may land you in a cheaper season.
Buy wholesale. You can purchase tickets from wholesale consolidators and cut out the middleman. These companies buy international flights in bulk, and resell them for cheap. You can find these companies, by doing a search online for “airline consolidators.” Some of the most popular include Skylink and C&H. Keep in mind these are only useful for international flights.
Check your routes. Often times flights may be much cheaper from one city than another. In California, for example, you can easily save a few hundred dollars by flying from San Jose rather than San Francisco. Like your travel dates, the more flexible you can be the better. In conclusion, you find international flights for very cheap; just remember to remain flexible and purchase wholesale. |
