Inexpensive India Internal Flights

This article will be in two parts: first, I will try and convince you not to book cheap air flights inside india; secondly, I will provide you a list of agencies that provide cheap flights in India.

OK, so here’s my argument for why you should not rely on air travel across India. First, it costs more than taking the train. You can catch an overnight sleeper car which costs less than a plane ticket, plus you get a free bed for the night.

Secondly, by flying you are missing out on seeing the geographic changes. I flew from Nepal to India once, and the Himalaya were nothing more than a brief note as we flew over them. The biggest mountains in the world and they got less attention than the in flight film (though I’m willing to bet some of those same people paid for a driving tour up to the mountains!).

Thirdly, you miss the culture. You simply cannot learn as much about a nation in the air as you can on the ground. Are you traveling to India to see a few highlights and get the hell out of there? If so, go with the airplane. If, however, you are going to expose yourself to a new way of life, go with the rails!
