Cheap International Student Flights
Cheap international student flights may be the number one reason I actually graduated college. Besides super cheap flights, you also get great international discounts on concerts, plays, tours, museums and other attractions. I’ll show you how you can get super cheap international flights, and the several other ways to stretch your budget.
Before we even talk about flights, you should that time to apply for an International Student Identification Card (or ISIC for short). This card an be purchased for less than forty dollars, and will save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on your trip. For example, I saw “Les Miserables” in downtown London for less than twenty dollars. They were good seats, too! I’ve also used this card to catch a show at the Sydney Opera House for a whopping $12. Granted, it was a matinee and this was several years ago, but you get the point: students can enjoy “culture” at very cheap prices.
Once you have your ISIC card, it’s time to mosey over to STA (Student Travel Association). There cheap international student flights are almost unbelievable; I purchased a round the world ticket (Sydney-Singapore-Vietnam-Kathmandu-London-Toronto-San Francisco-Sydney) for around twelve hundred dollars. Just a round trip from San Francisco to Bangkok will cost around that; imagine seeing the world for that price! STA also has great deals on one way and round trip tickets, so it’s best to ask their advice on how to structure a trip.
Cheap international hubs include Bangkok, London, Sydney, New York, San Francisco or Los Angeles, Miami, Panama, Rio de Janeiro and Frankfurt and Mumbai (Bombay). You can very easily build your own cheap ticket using these destinations, but again, it never hurts to ask a travel agent. Armed with an ISIC card and an experienced travel agent, you will be able to find truly cheap international student flights. |
