U.S. Road Trip Planner
If you are interested in a great road trip in the usa, look no further. I worked as a tour planner for road trips across the usa, and have seen every nook and cranny of this great country. It is with pleasure that I offer you my free usa road trip planner; let’s look at what you can do provided you have three weeks to drive across the country:
Los Angeles. If you’ve never been, hit up Disneyland or Universal Studios. If you go to Hollywood, prepare to be disappointed; it isn’t half as cool as people think.
Las Vegas. Spend two nights in the City of Sin. To save cash, buy the extra strong drinks at Fat Tuesday’s and walk the Strip.
Grand Canyon. An awe inspiring sight. If you’re traveling in the summer and want to hike, hit the trail before dawn; temperatures break 100 before noon in the canyon.
Zion National park. Hike Angel’s Landing for an incredible view, or hike upriver in the Narrows to cool off.
Bryce Canyon. Hike through amazing rock formations (known as “hoodoos”) during the day, and try stargazing at night.
Carlsbad Caverns. Get to these caves early so you can take the natural entrance; prepare to be amazed.
Del Rio, Texas. If you are tired of driving, stop at this border town and party it up in Mexico.
San Antonio, Texas. See the famous Alamo, then get the hell out of there.
Austin, Texas. The place for music in the usa, and a necessary stop for a road trip. Austin’s legendary 6th street is a haven of bars and great music, from blues to soul to rap to classical.
Lafayette, LA. The Cajun capital of the usa. Take time to savor the food and music in this quant town.
New Orleans, LA. One of my favorites. See where jazz originated, hit up a casino, and party in the Quarter.
Jack Daniels Distillery, Tennesse. It’s on the way, and worth a tour. Take a white water rafting trip earlier in the day, and prepare for a long drive.
Memphis and Nashville, TN. Great music and BBQ. Memphis is blues, Nashville is country; pick your poison.
Washington, DC. Definitely add this to your usa road trip planner. Tour the city at night to take advantage of the lights, and be prepared to walk long distances. Most attractions are free in this town, making it one of the cheaper places on your road trip.
New York. What better way to end your usa road trip than the Big Apple? You’ll need a few days to wander through this city. The food is incredible, and the locals much nicer than they get credit for. At the end of your road trip across the usa, take some time and reflect on everything you’ve seen and done. Remember, this is just my usa road trip planner that I use; make the trip your own, and explore! |
