8 Days Too Much? How About 4 Days For A Marmaris Cruise?

For anyone looking for a sampler of some of the finest in Turkish cruises, 4 days spent in Marmaris may be just the ticket. Here you can enjoy an eclectic mix of history, nightlife and that crystal clear water the Aegean coast is known for. I’ve booked several trips for clients that start in Marmaris before heading out to the beautiful city of Fethiye.

It’s important to realize that many cruises offer an 8 day package deal that offers a round trip from Fethiye back to Marmaris, which generally offers a better value. However, if you, like many people, want to spend more time on land exploring the rest of Turkey, 4 day cruises are certainly an option.

Marmaris is without a doubt a gem of the Turkish coast. Here you can find excellent shopping (which is great for my wife), historical ruins (which are great for me) and some of the best nightlife Turkey has to offer (which is good for both of us!). Try to arrive in Marmaris a few days prior to your cruise, as this will afford you enough time to truly experience this wonderful town known as the “Turkish Riviera.”

The beaches that run along here are world class, and the sun is not as strong as you may find in places like Thailand, Australia or New Zealand… meaning you can spend more time lounging along the coast.

If you’re interested in ruins (and seeing that you’re visiting Turkey, you probably are!) take a few hours and visit the Marmaris castle, a reminder of the ancient history Turkey has to offer.

Just outside of Fethiye, you should definitely visit the second longest gorge in Europe: Saklikent Gorge. This incredible canyon is 900 feet deep and roughly 12 miles long. I have yet to hear from negative comment from any of my clients regarding this site!
