Beautiful beaches and people: Bodrum weekly cruises
The town of Bodrum has been written about extensively on the site, and rightfully so. One of the most beautiful and fast-growing harbors of southwestern Turkey, it remains a major hub for the cruise industry.
There are several options to explore on Bodrum weekly cruises; here’s a sample itinerary to get your imagination going.
Most cruises originating in Bodrum dead towards Marmaris via the Gokova Islands. If you are headed towards the Gokova Islands, your first night will no doubt be spent just outside Boldrum (generally around the harbor, or just off Black Island). Hopefully you will have arrived a few days early in order to do Bodrum justice!
From there you will head to the Gokova islands, docking outside the town of Knidos. Here you should take any and all opportunities to see the ancient ruins that abound along this Aegean/Mediterranean border.
Another highlight on Bodrum cruises is the 11th century castle located in the town of Bozukkale. Most cruise lines will spend an afternoon here before heading along to Serçe Limani for an evening in the bay.
For those interested in partying, there is no place along the Turkish coast better than Marmaris. Here you can dance late into the night, with amazing coastal views as the backdrop. Furthermore, the shopping here is unparalleled, and the prices are a bit high (as most heavily traveled areas are) but by no means prohibitive.
