Last Minute Bargain Travel

Let me get one thing straight: last-minute bargain travel is possible.  However it may not be as easy as you think. 

In this article I will show you two ways that will help you take advantage of last-minute bargain travel deals that I’ve used successfully in the past.

Be flexible.  This is far and away the best advice I can give someone searching for a bargain on their travel.  If you’re not particularly set on your destination, you are much more open and able to grab whatever deal a particular airline is offering at that time.  It’s important to sign up for these airline newsletters, so you’ll know right away when these deals come out for example, I subscribe to American airlines deal finders, and they recently told me I could get a flight from San Francisco to Austin, Texas with five nights hotel for two people for less than $700.  That is not a typo.

Shop wholesale.  Some of the best last-minute bargain travel deals come from wholesalers. You can find wholesalers online by typing in “wholesale flights to…” often times, when you talk to a wholesaler on the phone you can ask for a specific route, or better yet, ask them about some of the best deals they have going right now.  It’s important remember that different wholesalers have different agreements with different airlines, so it pays to shop around. This strategy works especially well if you’re able to incorporate flexibility; often times wholesalers won’t have a good travel deal available last minute for a specific route, but they almost always have a good deal going somewhere.

If you’re able to use these two strategies together, I guarantee you will be able to find several last-minute bargain travel deals that suit your needs.
