Free International Travel Guides: Free international travel guides abound, thanks to the internet. While they may not be as robust as a Lonely Planet or Rough Guide, online travel guides can give you more information in less time. On my last trip to southeast asia, I didn’t even bother with a book… all the intelligence I needed was on one site. Online World Travel Guides: Online, world travel guides have grown more in the past ten years than any other time in recent history. The ease of creating a travel guide online, and the accessibility of billions of people make the internet the place for world travel planning in the future. There are literally millions of travel guides available today, and to provide a thorough analysis of all of them would be a waste of time. Here is a list of my favorite online world travel guides; some are free, some are reasonable, all of them are invaluable.
